COVID-19 Update: Still promoting new music

Because of COVID-19, Duo-B is cancelling all of their spring ICF concerts including April 19th at Montauk, May 1st at St Ambrose University and May 23rd at Cedar Rock. Philip Borter the cellist is taking a new position at Baylor University in Texas in the fall. So their family will be attempting to relocate during this uncertain time. In lieu of these performances, Duo-B has agreed in principle to do a studio recording of the duos on their program. We are in the very beginning stages of plotting out how this project might come about in line with appropriate health directives.

The ICF Student Composer Competition is still open and could be an interesting online music education program as teachers are moving their classes and lessons to online formats. There are three age brackets for composers from middle school through undergraduate studies. Qualified students must be enrolled in an Iowa school or study with a member of the ICF. The page describing the guidelines is located here. The deadline for submission remains June 1st.
